12 Days of B-Movie Christmas: Days 4 & 5

Saturday was a very busy day and I ran out of time, but I realize that I still owe you all a movie for that and today. So, on the 4th & 5th days of Christmas, I give you a B-Movie double-feature.

Director: Michael Cooney | Writers: Jeremy Paige, Michael Cooney

Stars: Scott MacDonald, Christopher Allport, Stephen Mendel

After an accident that left murderer Jack Frost dead in genetic material the vengeful killer returns as a murderous snowman to exact his revenge on the man who sent him to be executed

-IMDB

On the way to his execution, a serial killer is mutated in a car wreck and transforms into living snow but that doesn’t mean he’s done killing. In fact, the tagline is “he’s chillin…and killin”. Imagine a very evil Frosty the Snowman that can shapeshift like Sandman and makes for some very creative and hilarious kills.

Scott MacDonald does a great job bringing the character to life and that’s a big part of the reason it’s one of my favorite guilty pleasures for Christmas time. Even though you would likely never consider this a good movie it’s 100% a cult classic, and deservedly so. That brings us to the second movie on the countdown…

Written & Directed by: Michael Cooney

Stars: Christopher Allport, Scott MacDonald, Chip Heller

The Mutant Killer Snowman returns to kill more people during Christmas

-IMDB

That description tells you exactly what you need to know. The best part is that the band got back together for this one. Cooney was back at the helm and Christopher Allport and Scott MacDonald both reprised their roles, so it’s not like some different creatives wanted to take over.

It’s got a little bit of Jaws 4 as the survivors from the previous film go on a well-deserved tropical vacation. However, Jack Frost is somehow refrozen and even more powerful than before as he’s able to resist the heat. He also wants revenge.

Recommendation: For fans of Christmas horror, these are essential stocking stuffers.

Thanks for reading! I still believe word of mouth is the best way to help, so if you enjoy what I’m doing, please tell somebody. And if you have a comment, I’d love to hear it! Liking, subscribing, and sharing go a long way too. As usual, be well, be safe, and have fun no matter how you get your movies!
